Titel: Tasker task failing to run
Beitrag von: Lockszmith am 18.05.2015, 17:38:03
Hello,

Great app!
Thank you for it.

This used to work for me, but now I must be doing something wrong.

I've recently had my phone wiped, and upgraded to Lilipop.
I have a stock (unrooted) Samsung Note 3 (US/AT&T) running Android 5.0.

I have Tasker setup with 2 tasks: GeoHomeIn and GeoHomeOut
I've set those entries in a EgiGeoZone as Enter and Exit.
whenever there is a Geo switch, I get an error notification.

I've checked "Allow External Access" but still it isn't working.

The error I get is:
Zitat
Error calling Tasker
NoPermission: calling app does not have the needed Android permission

I hope I'm just missing something simple, and that it's possible.

Please let me know if there is any relevant information I can supply that will help with resolving this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

The Tasker App requires custom permissions. Android 5.0 includes a behavior changefor custom permissions.
See documentation: https://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-5.0-changes.html#custom_permissions (https://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-5.0-changes.html#custom_permissions)

I will see what I can do and inform you. I also contacted the developer of the  Tasker app.

OK, I think I found a workaround for it.
Can you test it please: http://egigeozone.de/download/EgiGeoZone_1.5.1b.apk (http://egigeozone.de/download/EgiGeoZone_1.5.1b.apk)

The Tasker developer answered:

Zitat
Hi,

There's an Android bug where If the calling app is installed before
Tasker it will not receive the RUN_TASKS permission because Android
doesn't know about it when it is installed.

Pent

Let me know, if the workaround helped you.
